Officially Employed

Much to my relief, I was offered a position this week!  It’s a middle school in Denver, and I couldn’t be happier. The interview lasted about 15 minutes, but I knew right off the bat that my personality meshed well with the administration. Phone call Friday, interview Tuesday morning, and that same afternoon I was employed.  It happened so fast!  Funny that it should, after months of that slow application process everywhere else, and all that worry.

It’s nice to go to Induction with a job.  I leave in the morning to drive to Denver with my parents and brother–about 18 hours.  I’m excited to get to Colorado and finally start what I’ve been looking forward to since November!  Not as excited about living in a dorm, or the freshman feeling of “who’s my roommate? who will I eat lunch with?”  It’s outweighed by my confidence in my fellow CMs.  We’re all there for the same purpose, with the same energy and optimism about our abilities to change the world.  The idea of being surrounded by people working for the same thing I am is invigorating.

Colorado, here I come!

:) Who to eat lunch with will be the least of your fears. CMs are way accepting and the Colorado corps is one of the happiest, at institute anyway. :) Good luck!
